Republicans in Forsyth County, Georgia should have been prepping the past few days for a campaign visit by Gov. Brian Kemp.
Instead, GOP officials there spent the weekend trying to get out of their own way - after seemingly raising the specter of the county’s racist past.
As news spread that Stacey Abrams and other top Democrats would hold a campaign rally in Forsyth County - a fast-growing county in the exurban area north of Atlanta - the local GOP issued a call to protest the candidates who are “crossing over our county border.”
